“Whilst communication and effort from Walls and Floors was very good, there were 3 canceled deliveries because of the courier. When the tiles were delivered (at the fourth attempt) it was delivered the day before the agreed date so my wife and I had to come home early from holiday early as it was a kerb delivery.
As I cannot work from home, I had to take A/L; so the fact that delivery was canceled 3 times with very little notice (often less than one hour), was very frustrating.
I believe that any service is only as strong as the weakest link, so whilst W&F was very good, the courier was awful so I can only rate as very poor and sadly would not recommend.”
“I did some research on how to reduce sounds between my bedroom wall and my neighbour's kitchen. Out of all the various websites I looked into, I decided to contact Walls and Floors and their answer to my question on how to do this with minimum damages in rented accommodation, I was told it would be easy to screw it on the wall and then filled the holes when and If I leave.
Their pre-sales customer service was good so I decided to order 3 panels. The delivery was very prompt... However, DPD never rang my bell and never sent an email it was delivered. The reason, they damped the 3 panels in the foyer of the block of flats i live in i.e. they managed to get in the building without ringing my bell but just damped the panels there without telling me anything... Although I am a fit woman 58 years old there was no way I could carry those upstairs. After a few hours of debating with myself how to do this, I found some neighbours to help>
1 of the neighbour knows about acoustic and he told me those panels would not stop the noise.
I decided to write feedback to Walls -and-floors about DPD and enquire about the acoustic again. This is what I received as an answer
"Fixing the panels to the wall with either a glue adhesive or screws will have minimal soundproofing effects, however, if they are fitted to wooden batons that are fixed to the wall will increase the reduction of noise."
When I asked if I could return the panel here is the answer: "You are welcome to return them to us if you have changed your mind, however, unfortunately, the drivers are not able to enter your property and the return does need to be arranged via your own means. Please let me know if you would like to go ahead and I can send a returns form over for you"
I have no idea why the driver is not able to enter my property. What does that mean? DPD like any other couriers always come and go we have 3 lifts including a delivery one (although the panel were too long to fit)
Why would you advertise you deliver if you can't deliver to someone's flat?
Why not be clearer about the installation ? i.e. the panels in itself won't do any noise cancellation unless you put them on batons?
I would not recommend this to anyone before they really get the help of an expert.”
“Advertised as 10mm and they are more like 7mm. Complained and they said it was an error with website. No part refund or anything offered back as a good will gesture.”
“We love the final look of the tiles they were exactly what we were after and really compliment our kitchen but we had some issues getting there! Some tiles arrived damaged (no refund allowed as we didn't know we had to check the tiles and report damage within 48 hours, we werent quite ready to tile when they arrived hence not checking them right away). Also the tiles were difficult to cut.”
