“I sent this watch to Nixon less than two weeks after receiving it, because the finish wore down to the bare metal on the clasp and bottom of the wristband within days of wearing it. Nixon was very apologetic and repaired it immediately by replacing it with a new wristband (but they kept my original box, and returned it in a bag.) The finish on the new wristband wore off faster on the replacement than it did on the original. For reference, I work as a graphic designer, so apparently the hard use I put it through, beating it up with daily abrasive texture of my laminate desk and abrading it with the soft surface of my khaki pant pockets are too much for the Nixon Magnacon. I sucked it up and am dealing with the extensive wear, convincing myself it gives it character, because I like the face so much and there is nothing comparable on the market that I have found. But it's absolutely not what I expected for a watch with an MSRP of $700.”
