Words cannot describe how happy I am with this timepiece, it's such a unique piece and executed perfectly. Everything from the bronze case and cage, to the small attention to detail in the steel plating on the dial, the porthole showing the Swiss Sellita SW200 movement, and even the submarines on the strap buckles. As far as wearing, although rather cumbersome, if worn with the cage I guarantee you will turn heads everywhere, it's a great conversation starter, and even without the cage it's a very unique piece that easily stands out in a sea of Seiko's and Timex. The leather band is also very supple and comfortable to wear for long periods of time and even features lightly embossed images of the ballast logo which is a nice touch. Moving to the case and the bronze is certainly a fitting choice for the style, with a metal nameplate on the side and the black canteen mechanism, it helps add to the aesthetic, the bezel controlled winding and time setting also helps make this timepiece stand out. The dial is just a sight to behold, the rustic steel plating with what appears to be a die cut Ballast name on it along with the small bolts along the steel plating to give it an authentic look and even the window to show the movement is made to look like a porthole, the lume is also very bright and lasts for about 15 minutes after being charged. Overall this is my favorite timepiece purchase ever, very beautiful, very different and while this is definitely not a casual wearer, even just looking at this brings me joy.

I cannot say enough about this watch, it is such a beautiful piece and a guaranteed conversation starter when worn with the cage. (although it is rather ungainly) First off, for anyone wondering, the Swiss movement in this timepiece is a Selitta SW-200 (not the 200-1) and is a great movement, I've had no issues and it has no problem ticking through the night and only needing a small adjustment the next morning. As for the build, this is a very well built timepiece with beautiful curves and and amazing attention to detail from the submarine cutout in the strap buckle to the very small "rivets" on the steel plating on the dial, it also of course features the sapphire crystal that has already seen a couple light hits at work with not a scratch to be seen. The colours mix perfectly together for an antique and almost steampunk aesthetic while the leather strap is very supple and comfortable to wear for long periods of time, though rather stiff. Of course by far the biggest headturners are the outer cage and the bezel function, I can't lie and say I wear it with the cage often (only once in fact to show a coworker and fellow horology enthusiast) but when I did, not only was he in awe by it, but almost everyone else who saw it showed alot of interest in it, even people I knew weren't into watches. Overall this is an amazing timepiece and very unique, it turns heads for other reasons than a big brand and while it isn't your casual everyday wearer, it's truly a sight to behold, worth every penny and I can't wait to get my hands on a Tireless!
