I have a fairly small wrist and with some experience have found generally anything larger than 40mm simply looks out of place. The gigantic oversized watch fad that started in the 2000’s is thankfully on its way out. The future will look at us and our big obnoxious watches just as we look at big obnoxious hairstyles of the 1980’s... and say, “what were they thinking“. That’s my prediction for luxury watches anyway. The G-Shock is the exception in my opinion. The rugged appearance giving off that “active outdoor lifestyle” is surprisingly lightweight. For many I suspect having what looks like a big transformer strapped on your wrist matches the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon - that has never seen a dirt road - sitting in the garage reminding it’s owner that though it likely never will... it can. The GA2000 is a smaller less capable (more affordable) watch compared to other well known G-Shocks. Having only a 7” wrist the GA2000 doesn’t look big at all. The dial of course is busy and it takes more than a quick glance to understand what the analog hands are telling you. No solar, no wireless atomic clock nonsense, no altimeter or barometer. It does have multiple time zones, alarms, chrono functions, a little LED light that doesn’t stay on long enough but odds are there is a way to increase it explained in the little (but thick) manual. I will never read said manual to find out though. The list of things it is capable of is much longer than the list of things I’ll ever ask of it. As a former U.S. Marine the militant colors and overall look appeals to - and reminds me of - a younger more fit me. In the end that’s all I really wanted it to do. I’ll wear it to the range the roughly one time per year I go. Maybe this $130 watch is just the beginning... It makes me want to buy a Jeep and some camping gear and sign up for some ridiculous mud covered obstacle course 5K run... This may turn out to be a very expensive watch
