I bought this watch after being stuck in hospital following a heart attack (who knew I had a heart?), and finding one of my fellow inmates had a Mondaine watch. I was impressed by the clear legibility of the dial design, and when I looked up the choices of purchasing one, discovered that the prices are very reasonable, especially for a Swiss watch. My friend's watch was limited in usability, because the strap (which breaks regularly) was no longer available. The new Mondaines have a lug free design capable of being fitted with a Nato strap should the original fail, which it probably will, as it is made of very thin, flimsy leather intended for effete European thin wrists, and mine barely meets around my virile, muscular wrists. I am on the third hole from the end. But this is a stunning, clear as day timepiece which is a joy to wear, and it makes reading the time an ongoing pleasure. Today is the first day I have worn mine, but I will have to wait until dark when watching tv, to see if the night vision feature works satisfactorily. I turned my TV off in disgust last night, when I saw how easily England defeated the All Blacks, so it will take some special content to make me turn it on again. I was also present recently when a woman came into the jewellers, to have her husband's Mondaine watch strap replaced, so I know it happens all the time. I don't know how a company can make an almost perfect watch, but lacks any clue on how to make an adequate, long lasting strap. Try outsourcing, play to your strengths. Otherwise, very, very good, and aesthetically very satisfying. BTW, my hospital friend is a retired architect, and there is a bit of a meme about architects favouring Mondaine watches and Saab cars. I don't know what car my friend drives.

With the wide selection of choices, Watches.com made it relatively easy to find the watch that worked for me. I am very happy with my watch. It's light, very hip, and I'm starting to receive some compliments on it.
