I enjoyed the Chief Beef bars; The meat quality is the best of any similar beef, pemmican or jerky type snack bar I have tried previously. I have no idea how difficult or involved the process is so from an educated perspective and all respect for a great product. To me I would have thought the finished product would have dried more. They maintained an excellent consistency in product quality. Though I quite enjoyed them for what they are, I did feel that they were a little bland. Personally, I was thinking that they kinda need just a bit of herb of spice type lift just enough to compliment the lovely flavor of the beef. A great steak just ooozzzeezz with the flavor of the pan-fried change on the plate just a sprinkle of salt n cracked pepper magic. I am not sure how much experimenting has been tried. Too make comparison constructively they are a bit like just plain mince, in the moist condition and I imagine that would be the oils from the lard or shortening to help keep it together and maintain the texture if the process is similar to pemmican. Maybe my taste is little bit spoiled! My review may just be another step to another line of Chief Beef flavor or possibly not suitable for the process. I'm certainly not complaining, I would have no hesitation eating them regularly if I had them on hand. Bought these to take on trip across desert, was a little sceptical having been a muesli bar man for years. Really impressed with the quality, taste good to me and i find one keeps me going not looking for more for a long time. Mick b

I liked the beef bars but...perhaps because they are so vinegary, they gave me a huge attack of gout. I don't have that problem with standard biltong. Also perhaps combining the beef bar with a collagen bar was not a good idea from the gout perspective. However, I do think it's a great product for those who do not have high uric acid issues like myself .

Cooking healthy meals can sometimes fall to the bottom of my priority list. Having 2x Chief beef bars in place of a meal gives me the proteins, nutrients, and energy that I need - while saving me time! I love that these 'protein bars' are made from real food, and the added bonus is that they taste delicious. Highly recommend!!

Love both the traditional and chilli beef bars, although I tend to use the chilli ones in soup...it adds a great flavour and makes what would be a plain vegetable soup very filling
