“I use this daily to wash my face with coconut oil to remove makeup and it works great. Dries quickly and doesn't get stinky even though I keep it in the humid shower (I do hang it up to try though).”

Thanks so much for your honest review! Funny enough, the down sides you brought up about the mitt were just the things were we looking for in it :)
We tested out a number of fabrics and chose this thinner one for it's quick drying ability. Living here on the humid west coast, a regular face cloth can stay damp in the shower for way too long. We liked that this thin cloth is easy to soap up, wring out and hang to dry. It's small size makes it great for travelling and is pretty easy to dry out when you need to stash it in a toiletry bag fairly quickly. It will still last a long time and does as good a job as the thicker ones we trialled.
We also chose this microfibre material because it is really good at grabbing on to makeup, oil, dirt, etc! To us that meant it's removing those things naturally from the skin without any soap or cleanser. We found it easy enough to clean with a good soap up in the shower using whatever bar soap or body wash is on hand. (I've also used shampoo in a pinch!)
