Sometimes it’s the simplest things in life that are the best – and our 3m 4.8W Single Colour LED Strip Light Kit is as simple as it gets! Manufactured by Mirrorstone, it comes with everything you need in the box to get started – 3m of our 4.8W single colour LED tape and a 240V power supply for you to plug it into your mains. With a cutting interval of 10cm, you can even trim it down to the perfect length for your needs too. Please be aware though that we cannot accept returns on custom strip light lengths, so take the utmost care if you do need to trim it down. Once plugged in, the 3m commercial grade adhesive on the back allows you to stick it to nearly any flat surface, though we cannot guarantee how well it will stick on any given surface. It’ll then distribute a max brightness of 400 lumens over a beam angle of 120o, whilst using just 4.8W/m – an equivalent incandescent would suck up over 10 times the energy at 50W! Using a single colour dimmer, you can also dim your LED tape too, allowing to you to experiment with different effects depending on where you’re using it and what mood you want to create. With up to 50,000 hours of life too, it gives you over 15 years of use making it a great long term purchase. Customise Your Strip Lights! You’ll have a couple of choices to make when buying your 3m strip light kit. The first is what kind of colour temperature you would like. Colour temperature is simply a measure, provided in Kelvins, of how warm a light is perceived to be. The 2 choices you’ll have are either warm white (3000K) or cool white (6000K). Warm white appears very similar to conventional halogens, and works great when trying to create a homely environment. This makes it perfect for the living room or bedroom. Cool white is a lot brighter though, and shines with a more penetrative light. This makes it more ideal for the office or kitchen. The other option you’ll have is if you want IP65 rating added to your strip light. The 2 digits following the letters IP (Ingress Protection) tell you how well the device protects against foreign bodies and moisture. The 6 here means that the strip lights become completely dust proof, and the 5 indicates that it can guard against light jets of water from any direction. This allows you to use them in the bathroom, kitchen, or even outside in the garden!
