Please note that the Cool White (6000K) option will be backordered until 31st May 2022. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Sometimes a simple product that does all the hard work for you is the order of the day – and our 3W Recessed LED COB Downlight fits the bill perfectly. This Mirrorstone tilt downlight packs everything you need into one unit – bulbs and driver! This means you don’t have to buy anything separately, making this an incredibly efficient light fitting. The single 3W COB (chip on board) uses just 3W of energy to provide 230 lumens of light. An equivalent halogen would use over 13 times more energy – a whopping 40W! It’s easy to install too – as it uses standard 240V mains input voltage and only requires a 65mm cutting hole to use. The narrow 60o beam angle makes it ideal for feature and accent lighting, giving it a clearly defined purpose. It does have some versatility too as it comes with IP44 rating. This means it is capable of withstanding penetration from foreign bodies larger than 1mm, and splashes of water from any direction. The tilt functionality lets you change where your light is shone too, giving some flexibility to how you operate it. The white finish gives it a neutral appearance too, so it will look good wherever you decide to use it. Introducing LuxSpot The LuxSpot range brings a completely new meaning to energy-efficiency. With a fantastic design that ties bulbs and drivers to one neat package, this new design provides a brighter light for even less electricity usage. The all-in-one form leads to a lengthier lifespan, with a revolutionary heat sink dissipating heat away, and placing the light under less stress. Can I Customise My Downlight? There are a couple of options you can change on your tilt downlight to make it perfect for your needs. The first is what kind of colour temperature you would like the bulbs to emit. This is simply a measure of how warm the light looks, and uses Kelvins as the unit of measurement. Warm white appears close to how traditional halogens look, and help create a cosy atmosphere which works great in the living room and bedroom. Cool white is very different in that it is brighter and icier. This works much better in places like the office or kitchen. The other option you’ll have when buying your COB downlight is if you want the bulbs to be dimmable or not. This lets you control the brightness and allows for some degree of freedom when using it. You will need a trailing edge dimmer to use dimmable LEDs though. The more conventional leading edge dimmers found in most homes aren’t guaranteed to work and could even damage the bulbs. Depending on where you need to use your recessed downlight, 230 lumens may not be enough light. Don’t worry, as we have a whole range of LED downlights to choose from, varying in design, power and brightness. Our 7W recessed LED COB Downlight offers a brighter end product at 550 lumens for just 7W, and is a great...
