These are a simple replacement for the old spots, are possibly brighter than the 60W spots they replace and obviously MUCH more economical. There is no problem whatever with our existing dimmer switch.

Good value spotbulb. Unlike previous ones they don't interfere with the radio! They don't seem quite as bright as my previous similar bulbs and I would say that 800 lumens isn't quite strong enough for older people for reading purposes. Otherwise happy with them.

Bulbs are described as dimmable- they do indeed dim, but not down to black - they go to about one third brightness, then cut out. Likewise when dimming up, they suddenly come on quite brightly- completely different behaviour from tungsten lights. I bought these to replace a tungsten light in a home cinema setup, where low light level is important - useless for that, so I'll use them in the kitchen downlighters instead.
