“I've been eyeing these shoes since last winter and I finally got a pair after they were restocked. The shoe is well made and looks great; I love the small details like the red D-rings and the sole that has the section that is ventilated in summer shoes still present but covered in the same material as the rest of the sole in order to make it warmer and prevent liquid seeping in from underneath (unlike other shoes that don't have this section at all). The form of the shoe is really appealing, its not bulky like most winter shoes and it feels like it is more form fitting along the arch, ankle, and ball of my foot while still leaving room for my toes to flex and wiggle. All this means is that when I look down at my feet I feel like I'm wearing something 'sleek' and not a 'winter boot'.
As for warmth, I've only been able to test it in Midwestern fall so far, so 30-40 degrees F, but I feel confident that these will be my go to pair of shoes all winter, even at -10 F. Going out for longer walks in strong winds my feet don't feel the chill at all; if I exert myself and walk fast/jog my feet will actually get hot.
Reading this you may think to yourself, 'Yea, my winter boots already do that.' to which I say, 'exactly.' These boots (in my opinion) are able to be judged on equal playing field with a pair of standard winter boots, and that's all I want for my barefoot winter boot, but to have it look good and be comfortable, and let me feel the difference between stepping on soft or dry grass is pretty amazing.”
