What size recommendation would you like to make for the model?
Buy one size larger.
“The Emmer is a great shoe for a lot of reasons. I really like the wool shoes from my experience with the Chestnut (which I purchased in autumn) and I wanted to get a low top pair. What drew me to the Emmer was that is slightly lighter/less warm as well, so that while my Chestnuts have been great in cold weather (with a Wooly insole), the Emmer seemed like a great cool-weather option for Spring and Fall on its own. The sizing is "slightly shorter" as the website says. I'm wearing the same size as my other Wildling shoes, but the extra thumb-width of toe space has mostly disappeared (and that is without adding an insole). I would say that these probably run half a size shorter and the toe box width is more similar to the spring/summer shoe options than some of the fall/winter shoes that mention having a little extra room. If you have decent room in your usual size and a slightly shorter fit may work for you, order the same size. If you don't have at least a centimeter ahead of your toes in your normal size Wildlings, or if you intend to add an insole, you'll probably need to size up. I wish there were more half sizes, as these work for me, but a US Men's 11.5 or EU 45.5 would probably fit like my my usual Wildling size of US 11/EU 45.
That being said, the fit works for me and I intended to wear these mostly without socks or insoles anyway. I find the wool comfortable against my skin and it does a great job of regulating temperature and moisture, so these are shoes that I can just pull on in many temperatures and be comfortable in.
Another aspect of the Emmer is that it feels like a second skin. I don't have any "flop" although they are extremely flexible and move with me. They fit securely and I really feel like I could take on any activities that I might do in an athletic shoe....and they look great, too!”
