Love these. Comfy and the wool does its job: With some added wool inserts, these kept me warm during a sudden cold snap (0F, -17C). Been impressed with the water resistance too, even without any additional lanolin. I have waterproof boots for long walks in the rain and super heavy rain, but these have stayed dry inside for quick jaunts in heavy-ish rain even longer ones when I've been caught in it. The color is a sort of green gray that seems to look slightly different to different people. It's neutral without being boring and goes well with all my more mellow/darker winter clothes. I have gotten compliments from even my more stylish friend. These have become my go-to shoes for winter. Three things: Insoles: Unlike the Tanukis, these don't come with any sort of insole, I suppose since they expect you might wear socks in the winter. I added the wool inserts (from Amazon, since they were out of the Felty in my size) and a hemp insole too to help with smell, but I haven't had a problem with smell at all actually, even though I practically live in these. Sizing: Sizing is a bit bigger than the Tanukis, which I wear in W10 (per the Wilding chart; in other shoes, I'm usually a W9/9.5), so I did NOT size up—even though I do wear heavy socks and added those thick wool insoles plus the hemp ones. With all those extra layers, W10 fits perfectly. Laces: Highly recommend the elastic laces for easy off and on. The petrol gray color they sell here is a perfect match.
