I used to glue picture frames using blue tape and a strap clamp, but I found it a hassle to keep the corners lined up and keep it flat once the strap was tight. This makes the glue-up process easier since you just have to set up a dry fit, loosen the clamp, put glue on the miters, put it all back into place, and tighten the clamp. The self-centering works well after you get used to how to align the rails. Overall I'm glad I bought it. A few notes: 1) You will get glue squeeze out on the bottom of the frame. I removed it by using a heat gun to soften the glue and scraped it off. The rails have a recessed channel so it doesn't affect how the frame lays flat. I also used clamps at the corners to ensure picture frame pieces were flush at the miters. 2) Glue squeeze out on the sides can be sanded off, and glue on the top-side can be wiped off after tightening the clamp and before the glue hardens. 3) The plastic edge pieces appear to be resistant to the glue, as dried material came off with a fingernail.

I'm not one to usually leave reviews on a product but this clamp works so well I had to mention something. I've tried several other clamps to make picture frames and none of them have worked too well. With this one ever single of the 12 frames I have made so far have come out perfectly square. I need to pick up a few more soon.

I've used this little frame clamp to produce 100+ fine art frames. Every one came out perfect. It's very easy to use. I just assemble it dry, then loosen by 1/2", and remove the parts. Apply glue to all, replace them in the frame, and snug it up tight. The wingnut is a bit tough on the fingers. I replaced mine with a 1/4-20 jig knob. All better. The clamp is self-squaring, so very little adjustment is needed. I make up any slight outage (maybe 1/16) by pushing the diagonal legs towards center with my hands. My only complaint is that the plastic jaws are too short. My parts are 1-3/16" thick, and would benefit from even pressure all along the length of the joint. I partially make up for this by overtightening, and by shimming the top edge of the jaw with playing card stock, to focus the pressure. Even so, this clamp is still better than all the others I've tried.

This framing clamp is the easiest clamp I have ever used. The set up was easy and I used wax paper to keep the glue off the tracks. I could use another one in the future.
