These holdfasts are defective in multiple ways. They will not hold in any 3/4 inch hole but they will leave deep indentations in any work piece you are working on. Woodcraft issued a refund immediately upon my complaint. I appreciate Woodcraft for standing behind the items they sell. I recommend Woodcraft drop this item from their inventory.

Bought these for my bench top. Recieved, followed directions to drill holes, and they will not hold!!! Highly dissatisfied with this purchase considering i spent 2 months building my bench only to drill worthless holes in it!! Not happy at all.

1 star for me but might work well for others. Two issues with these holdfast. First, for me, is they do not hold in 3/4" holes in 4" benches. I finally tried them on 3/4" holes in my bench legs that are about 3.24" thick. They worked but not great. The problem appeared to be the finish on these holdfasts. I sanded and scuffed them up and now they work great in bench legs only.

Does not even look like the photo. Cheaper casting now I guess. My 18 month old daughter has a stronger grip than these things do. Listen to the old saying buy once cry once. I'll be crying twice.

The large holdfast has worked well on the Sjogberg tables which have 1" diameter holes, but I needed to cut off a portion of the long support to get it to fit. The Sjoberg clamp works better but not as quickly.

Received one for Christmas. Drilled 3/4" inch holes in 1 1/2" tabletop and the holdfast works great! Bought one more afterwards. I wanted them for carving, and chiseling operations but I used them on a board glue up and they worked so well I will probably buy one or two more.
