I recently purchased a couple of Wood River planes and Bench Dog planes. The Wood River products have better castings, machined adjustment components, and use the superior Stanley Bedrock pattern (Bench Dog is a Stanley Bailey pattern). The Wood River product is far superior and a great value. I've owned Veritas as well. Although not as good a product, the Wood River product is a great value for the hobbyist and prosumer. Veritas has some engineered features worthwhile for the professional, but the Wood River products are a tremendous joy to work with. Thank You Woodcraft. Glad you brought these to the market.

I have used this plane for about 8 months now and have no complaints. I also own a Stanley No. 4, type 13, fitted with a Hock iron and breaker. The Hock iron does hold it's edge longer but, it's made from A2 steel.
