“The quality seems good, but I wouldn't know because I haven't gotten to use it yet. It is taking an inordinately LONG time to get the back of the blade flat so I can sharpen it. I've been working on this for the majority of a 3-hour baseball game on TV and there is one corner of the blade that doesn't look like it's any closer to being flush with the rest than it was when I started.”

“I lapped this when I received it. Used it for maybe a couple feet of fitting, and the blade edge looks like a serrated knife... I have now spent more time sharpening/re-sharpening 3 seperate plane blades on WoodRiver products than I have spent time using them. I think this was the last straw for buying any more of their sub-par tools.”

“Worst service ever. I wish I could give 0 stars. Ordered with 2 day shipping and have not received order in 2 months. Will never order from woodcraft again. This was supposed to be a Fatherâ€™s Day gift. They did not make wood work in this case”

“It is what it's supposed to be and does what it is supposed to do. If you use this as it is supposed to be used, you will have no problems. I stropped to iron and put it to work the day I got it and haven't been disappointed yet. I did have the same issue a couple other reviewers had with the cap, but I was probably biting off more than this plane is meant to chew.”

“I've had this about two years and it is good for the money. This has a much better iron than my old Stanley. The mouth opening knob must be tightened very hard to keep it from loosening when using. The blade cap is OK and opens no more frequently than the old Stanley. This is really a user issue. I bought it on a whim and am satisfied. It is the best of the Woodcraft planes I have purchased without adding an aftermarket iron.”
