“I've been wanting a Cosman saw for months, but just can't afford them. I saw this one here, and knowing Veritas quality, just knew it would serve me fine. Well, not so quick. The saw is gorgeous! Totally excited when I opened it, so could not wait to give it a try in the shop. Found a piece of soft pine, and a piece of cherry to test it on. Problems immediately! The saw did not start well at all in either wood. Even after several starting pull strokes, the saw just would not start. I spent over an hour working with it trying different start methods to no avail. I wanted this saw to work well so bad, but alas, it just did not. Not sure if the rake angle is too much or it needs a good sharpening. How disappointing! So now, I just have to keep using my Crown Gents Saw till I can rake up enough to get the Cosman saw. Your results may vary. Those were mine. Returned the saw. :(”

“Don't know why I hesitated for so long on buying a real saw instead of trying to buy cheap and fix up. Perfect tly tuned out of the box and fit my hand perfectly! Cannot go wrong with this great little saw!”

“The handle is not real wood - Bubinga as indicated in the description. A portion of it was scrapped off and reveals it is paint. The blade stiffener is supposed to be iron, but looks like black plastic to me. Returning.”

“One of the other reviews stated the black piece on the top of the saw was iron, not any longer, the saw I received has two pieces of black plastic, which I will be returning and getting the lie nielsen saw for $60 more, but at least it will be top quality.”

“Bought this to get good at dovetails. This saw feels perfect in my hand and cuts easy and true. Nice weight to the saw, feels like a real quality tool. Very happy with the purchase. For the money, I doubt you could find a better saw.”
