“Love this hold down clamp. You can also purchase a shorter rod if you don't have a lot of room under your table top for the rod that is supplied with the hold down clamp. The amount of clamping force and the capabilities of the clamp make it extremely worth while. I tried clamping things between my bench dogs and the end vise but had difficulty with my work popping loose. I like this hold down so much that I bought another one a week later. The quality of the hold down clamp is typical Veritas superb. Buy it! You will wonder how you have done without it for so long!”

“Yeah, it's a bit pricey but worth every penny. Well designed and built. Ridges in the bar ensure solid grip in the 3/4" holes in your workbench. My advice is buy it. You may even want to get a second one after you see how well it performs. Consider how much your time, effort, and material your project costs you so why risk it slipping an potentially ruining it. Put in that context, you'll find this investment will quickly pay for itself. Remember the old saying, buy cheap, buy twice. Don't try to save a few bucks to get something that will just do. Get this one. You'll be happy you did!”

“Wasn't sure about the price of this thing. Probably better to get this than a series of disappointing cast holdfasts. Much beefier than appears in pictures. Best discovery was that the post makes an EXCELLENT rasp to open up holes that maybe weren't quite straight enough after drilling (like mine).”

“This is a very high quality hold down for your work bench. Fits snugly in my 3/4" dog holes and I love the way you can turn the knob to get the perfect amount of tension. I ordered one to try and was so pleased that I'm now ordering a second one. They seem a little pricey until you see the quality. These will last forever. It's nice to get an item with such high quality and such a good design. These will be helpful in my shop for years to come. I highly recommend this bench hold down. You won't be disappointed!”
