I previously wrote this review on the Paper plans for this jewelry box. These plans are made for the use of a table saw and router and for making the jigs you need. I wanted to make this with hand tools and a band saw, and I'm well into making it with things going better than expected. My only issue has been with the "rough cut" dimensions of the drawer back and front. These pieces are the most critical due to the way the drawers rest on the rails, and I had to redo them. Leave yourself a little more "rough cut" length than the 10" listed. Otherwise, the plans are clear.

I ordered the plans and they are really good at describing how to do it..I changed the legs..I made the wider which I think it actually makes it more sturdy and instead of using dowels to attach the top I just glued it using alot of pressure on the legs...this is not a quicky project to put together...regardless of what the plans say...you still have to test fit each drawer and legs....but the results are really nice...I made one for my wife and then my daughter in law wanted one..just take your time and think things out!!!

I have only been woodworking for 10 months and had no prior woodworking experience before then. I was able to make this box without too much frustration. The plans are clear and concise for the most part. I only had two questions that my woodworking friend was able to help me with over the phone. My box turned out amazing and I am very proud of it.

I am part way through the build and ran into a complication. It is unclear if the spline slotting jig's fence is to be secured on the top board with glue/screws or if it is free floating. I am hoping for a response from customer service. If anyone out there knows the answer, please advise.
