I will echo the review of DD from Decatur in trying to connect to the discharge of my 20" Powermatic Planer which was exactly the same O.D. as the reducer. I had to purchase 10' of 5" flexible hose for about $60, of which I needed 1 foot to connect the port and the reducer together. Had I not needed the setup quickly, I would have returned the item and sought a different solution. Of course, I later thought of a great solution to the problem. I would have had a friend hold the 4-7/8" reducer up to the 4-7/8" dust port, and I would have taped the two together with the black Gorilla Tape. That's the strongest tape I have ever witnessed! It would have been there long after I'm gone!

I bought this to go with my new Oneida Mini Gorilla Dust Collector. Unfortunately, the dimensions shown online do not match the actual reducer. The reducer is the same size as the port on my Mini Gorilla, so the reducer is too large. It butts squarely up against the port on the Mini Gorilla and will not go in. It's ~ 1/8" thick (just under), so there is no way to shave off enough to make it go inside the port. (Or even slip on over the outside of the port, for same reason). I would have chosen 0 stars if there was an option, as this is the only 5" - 4" reducer that is not metal. For this reason, I have a dust collector that I cannot use, as I cannot connect anything to the actual unit.

I purchased this with intentions of having to use a heat gun on my Super Dust Deputy to get it to fit. When I tried it I found that with a little wiggling it slides into the opening. Once in some tapping with a rubber mallet seats the reducer completely. With a little effort I was still able to remove it. Unless you're using metal tubes for dust collection save some money and buy this instead of the Oneida branded reducer.

This reducer is the same size on the 5" end as the port on my Powermatic planer and therefore does not fit (Both 4-7/8" OD). Posted to keep someone else from buying if they have the same situation.

I used it to reduce a 5" port on my Grizzly 20" planer, down to a 4" flex hose. Works perfectly for this. The OD on the adapter is less than 5", so this adapter fits inside the port on my tool. I tapped it in to place with a mallet, giving it a very tight fit. The 4" Flex hose slips over the other end of the adapter; giving me exactly what I need. Thanks.
