Gets the job done, use them for window and door trim pre assembly. Some definitely work better than others, tried to order through the chestnut sounds like he's having some health issues.

nothing "cheap " or "knock off" about these clamps, if the original inventor sorted out their ordering process and joined us in the 21st century then maybe people would buy them from him, i needed them quick, got them same day at Woodcraft, work extremely well, don't let the fake reviews throw you off

Tension/roll pin securing nylon insert to brass shaft broke on locking mechanism, no easy way to extract pin. Happened on two clamps. I have two others - I have since lubricated the nylon surface on those with silicone to reduce turning friction and hopefully reduce force on tension pin when locking. Wish I could order through Jim Chestnut, but their future is uncertain.

Please don’t purchase these. These are a complete knock-off and patent violation from the original designer and toolmaker named Jim Chestnut. Order local and give your dollars to a US distributor. Yes it’s a pain in the butt ordering from Jim’s website - but who cares. Be a good citizen ok?

Purchased several of these clamps to glue door casings. The advertising photo shows 2 clamps, however only 1 clamp is needed to do a corner joint. The clamp does leave minor pin marks on the casing edges/sides. With this said, the clamps work very well in getting nice miter joints.

If you’re looking for a miter clamp don’t buy these. For the same price you can get the original Clam Clamp made by Jim Chestnut. The quality it a lot better than these cheap knock offs. The quality and function of these clam clamps is horrible. It’s sad that Woodriver stole the exact design of Jim’s and then made them worse. Woodcraft should be ashamed to carry them in their stores and online.
