I read the paragraph long description on how to adjust wheel wobble in the trouble shooting part of the owners guide and spent the entire morning trying to correct the problem but to no avail and returned the grinder. That's too bad because it seemed like a solid unit and ran very quiet. Others have had no problem but the amount of wobble in both wheels was just unacceptable.

It appears that the wobbling issue occurred in 2018 and before. Has this problem been fixed?

Having Purchased two of what Wooodcraft once offered as their imported, no-name 8" slow speed grinder I find this Rikon offering to be markedly superior. Both of the Woodcraft imported grinders that I bought were of marginal quality and lasted an astonishingly short period of time, especially considering the light duty that I asked of them. Unfortunately both of those WC grinders lasted just long enough to have the warranty be of no use whatsoever. For that reason, I purchased my Rikon grinder elsewhere. I can however recommend it.

Excellent product-No vibration upon reaching operating speed. Fine grit wheel produces very sharp, well finished surface. Solid unit!

Just bought this grinder and am not impressed. Left hand wheel operates reasonably well and I'm sure can be tuned to be true. I just spent about an hour trying to true up the 1/4" wobble on the right side. Rotated the stamped flanges, filed the burrs off the shaft, can't true it to any better than an 1/8" of wobble. Not useable in this condition. I will be contacting Rikon support to see where we go from here. I understand having the consumer doing micro adjustments to get the unit true, but filing burrs from poor machining? I will update my review after contacting Rikon support.

I was nervous because of other reviews but I needed a slow speed grinder for grinding and polishing. I bought it anyways. I was shocked. It's super quiet. Easy to assemble. Highly recommend!

This grinder still has a problem with an out-of-true arbor that causes the grinding wheels to wobble, which results in significant vibrations. This grinder will walk across my workbench. You need to aggressively dress the wheels to try and get a flat grinding surface. This is not really a slow-speed grinder. You can easily loose temper on a tool. Also, the left tool rest is made for a drill bit and it cannot be used for a narrow chisel. Should have checked reviews and bought a proper slow-speed grinder. Very disappointed that Woodcraft continues to sell this inferior product.

I was pleased with the grinder and it was a great value for the price. I have having much better results with the new rikon that with my old grinder of 20 years. The wheels wobble slightly, but easily fixed with the nice included diamond wheel dresser. Other than the mild wobble, the wheels work well. My main complaint is that the tool rest on the left wheel is designed for drill bit sharpening, The groove makes the left wheel virtually unusable for chisels, etc. I will have to improvise something to replace it.
