The major reason for only 3 stars is, the bad LARGE casting flange at the rear of the cutter body. I filed this off so it would screw solid against the wooden handle. Otherwise, this is a really nice product.

The threads on these are trash. Nice cutter head, but overall not sure I’d recommend.

Very sad quality control on the threads. The rest of it is nice.

Finish is nice quality but the insert and threads have a lot to be desired. You must be very careful not to strip the threads. Closer tolerances would greatly up the quality and feel of this item.

I think I've bought and used four of the 4"? At any rate it's either the insert (doubtful), or the threading but they strip VERY easily. the threading is cast as opposed to be created with a die. the head for the most part is great - nice and heavy and quite sharp. I have had to play with the tightness of the blade a bit, but it is not quite as big a deal. With the stripping of the threads, though, I no longer will make them as a gift.

I've made a couple of these and they are really nice. Hefty and easy to clean. You do have to fiddle with the hole and the cast threads are a bit sketchy. But overall it looks good and works well.

The diameter of the drill for the insert on the instructions are wrong. The first blank I drilled was too big, and the threaded insert just pushed in. It is more of a 3/8" drill. The other issue I had was the threads on the cutter head were not casted very well Would not tighten up enough, just kept slipping. Had to put teflon tape around the threads to be able to tighten enough. Have not used to cut pizza yet.
