“This is a nice project for outdoorsy types and for gifts. Easy to shape the scalesâ€”as with blades like this that do not come with a bolster, you will want to shape the top edge before gluing on the scale. Best to attach the 2 sides with 2-sided tape and do them together. Otherwise it is about as easy as they come. Works well with 1/4â€”

“The rivets the come with this product are junk. One of them didn't thread well. Neither of them work with the puny allen wrench tool that came with them, nor do they fit any of the 30 driver types from my Whatchacallit kit. Completely unuseable. This wasn't a cheap product. For the price paid I would have expected far better. I ended up having to spend additional money on a workable rivet solution from my local hardware store. Very disappointing, Woodcraft.”

“As described. You have to provide your own handle. LOL My son has been out of the nest for some time now and enjoys camping and rock climbing with friends. So I bought 2 kits and turned this into a great father son project. We got to do some woodworking together and we have a nice camping tool that will always bring back fond memories. They are so nice I think I'll make a couple more for some of my camping friends.”
