For starters, it's a really well made kit. With a little work you can modify the kit (actually not the kit but the wood blank) to make it taller-wider-better. I drew up my own plans for it and adopted it to the kit. Works fantastic. The finish on the cap and nut are exceptional. The grinder is great. A big plus... the small screws are sturdy and can take minimal predrilling. (Unlike some kits I've used where the screw can't take the twisting of the screwdriver and the head of the screw twists off) Changes??? sure... always. Mainly the length. I'd like to see a longer version. Something that would make it more appealing to those cooks who have everything. Make it taller so it stands out on the table and it will most likely be the first thing people will grab. Will I buy this product again??? YES. with the modifications I've made it fits my needs and looks great. It truly is a great kit.

I have followed the assembly instructions, watched several YouTube videos on how to assemble, and searched the internet. When I get my piece assembled, there is no give, base does not turn or grind and there is no way to fill with pepper corns without taking it apart. I apparently am doing something wrong but the assembly instructions are not very good and I’m getting ready to throw the other 2 kits I bought in the trash.

Nice kit, and works initially. After a week or two of regualr use, it slowly stops working. Finally it stops grinding all together. I guess the ceramic grinding surfaces are getting duvll. I've sold several, and given several to friends and family. Theirs have stopped grinding too. Very frustrating. Very embarassing.

The metal shaft (H) is the determining factor. I remeasured the turned parts and all were correct. This leave just 1 thread to screw the adjustment knob (G) and the shaker cap (F) rattled. I removed about 3/16" from the top of the grinder adapter (E) and all fits well. My suggestion is to test fit all parts as a whole before finishing. I tested the top and the base separately. Also, the 5 screws are very close to the inner edge, so don't over sand. Otherwise all went well.
