Excellent dust collector! Not a single problem with this unit.

I purchased and installed this (60-101) dust collector 10/21. I am using it with an Oneida Super Dust Deputy mounted on a drum. It collects wood chips and dust from a thickness planer, router table, and bandsaw. No problems with the bag, see very little sawdust after the dust deputy. I have filled the 50 gallon drum about 1 and 1/2 times ( it is emptied before it is completely full). The setup was recommended by Woodcraft Atlanta and works well.

The old version of this dust collector was defective, the inside lip that supported the dust bag would deform over time and cease to hold the bag. Rikon has since fixed the issue and this collector now ships with the updated version with a metal supported lip. I originally purchased the old model with the defect. I called Rikon customer support and within 3 minutes was on the phone with Steve with tech support who was familiar with the issue and immediately arranged to ship me an updated version--no BS, no receipts, no transfers to other departments... It was the most pleasant and least BS customer support call I have ever dealt with! About 3 days later the updated filter was on my collector. Steve with Rikon tech support is great. The collector now works awesome and I have had no issues with it.

This machine saves space but the bag keeps falling off. The problem is the perimeter of the unit where the bag attaches is too flimsy and distorts when you put the bag clamp on. I am an engineer so I know how to assemble machines, it is a design flaw. Better to get a unit that might take up more floor space, but with a proper design.

Installation was easy enough, and using it resulted in some issues but a warranty part came in and has made this thing bulletproof! I’m in a small shop and footprint is critical. I ran 4â€

I bought this thinking it was an upgrade from the previous wall mount dust collectors I have owned. When I assembled it the first time the tension of the collector bag strap buckled the canister filter. Rikon replaced it at no charge. Received the second canister filter and installed it. It did not buckle under tension, but its overall performance was far below my expectations of an 800CFM unit. I have it dedicated to a Jet edge sander and use it mostly for edge sanding yellow cedar. The filter clogs easily if you use the paddle to clear it every few minutes. Probably tossing this one and go back to my previous brand.

Extremely disappointed with this product. I could see dust puffing through the cylinder. It then subsided somewhat. But noted that dust was emanating through the motor housing and the electrical housing. I had to duct tape the motor shut (especially the cooling vents on the end) and the housing and electrical housing. I had to wrap the cylinder with plastic tarp, duct tape the top, and have it exhaust at the floor. There was nothing broken with it; it just is essentially useless. I have replaced this with a Powermatic 1300tx BK, discarding the bag that came with it and replaced it with A Wynn Environmental 35C222NANO cylinder (MERV 15). More expensive, but definitely worth it...can't smell or see any dust now. Beaver Industries sells the former for $699 with free shipping. The cylinder costs $225.

The form factor is perfect. Bought and returned because the motor housing had welding defects and dust was spraying out from the top component. Woodcraft swapped it out no problem. Then the dust bag....F this POS. It popped off once, and thought it wasn't tight enough. Vaccumed the whole shop and then re-attached. Then it blew again. Same thing. Then I was planing some stock while another project was drying with some expensive rubio monocoat - but it was far enough away and already 8~ hours of dry time. Well - the MF POS Rikon had a major blowout, bag popped off and dust was EVERYWHERE. Really looking foward to seeing who and how this situation will be fixed and compensated.
