Based on the reviews I was a little hesitant on buying this. I have had little issues with it clogging. At times I use this to clean the floor and if there is something bigger on the floor it will not get past the cone. It is not made to vacuum floors so that is on me and not this item. It keeps my cheap dust collector bag from filling up which allows for good air flow. I caught this on a great sales price.

Watch YouTube videos on this separator. It is prone to clogging. Also, does not "separate" as much as others. Nice idea, just poor design.

Picked this up from Woodcraft of Virginia Beach. Works great. Hooked it up to a 1.75 HP dust collector and it catches everything from the table saw, band saw, jointer, and Dewalt 735. Filled it twice and my bag level has not moved. So much easier.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this product. I suppose it would do fine with just sander dust, but anything larger clogs it right away. Planer or jointer chips will clog almost instantly. The problem is that the fins in the inlet that are there to start the cyclonic action protrude into the lumen of the inlet, and narrow it considerably. Anything larger than dust clogs here. I'm really not sure how this thing made it out of R&D. I did contact Woodcraft for a return, they told me I had to speak to Jet directly. Jet then did not respond to me at all, so it seems no one is going to stand behind this product.

I picked this up on sale at my local woodcraft while suffering from the sticker shock of an Oneida receptacle for the 4' Dust Deputy I had just purchased. For $200, a 30-gallon canister and a separator was substantially cheaper than the Oneida setup, so I returned the Oneida. and got this Jet package. I don't really get it, it *ought* to work better, but it really does a poor job of catching the fine stuff. Much of the fine stuff got past the cyclone and ended up in my Delta's 650 cfm DC's collection bag. I had better performance with the $25 garbage can lid separator. After upgrading my DC to a PM1300TX-CK, I tried it again, and again a lot of the dust *still* got past the JET's separator. Moreover the cyclonic "fins" inside the separator caused irregular chips and small chunks to get lodged and trapped. I had to unhook the hoses and extract 1" triangular corner cutoffs and longer thinner pieces. It's just not a good design for centralized shop dust collection. It was too late to return, so I'm stuck with it. To be fair, the 30 gallon can is actually *very* nice. The casters, viewport, pull-handle and easily removable lid made it much nicer than most other separator canisters out there. The top hole is 5" in diameter and I was able to fit a 5" Super Dust Deputy over the opening with minimal permanent modification, in the off chance that I want to use the Jet thing on the can again. At the moment the canister is integrated into my central DC, and the Jet unit is collecting dust. Because it's *a lot* smaller than an Oneida unit, I might mount it to a 5 gallon bucket and use it with my older Delta DC on the far end of my shop. Overall, the can makes it worth the purchase price *if* you can get a good sale, or buy that can separately. I do NOT recommend the Jet separator.

Bought this unit because it was on sale and was hoping for similar performance to a Dust Deputy or even the chip-separator lid. Nope. This things collects maybe 50% of the normal dust and chips. I like the can and the height, but performance is terrible. I should've just spent the extra $100 and gotten the canister for the Dust Deputy.

I never write reviews but this thing is junk. The only thing it separates isoney from your wallet. After at least a gallon of different types of dust from direct hose pick up out of my shop vac seperartor bucket to hooked up to a bench top thickness planer there is maybe an ounce of two of small to smaller particles in the seperartor drum.

Apparently my first review was to long and critical to be published. Works fine on cross cut miter saw dust. Worthless when you are ripping lumber. The threads of lumber when ripping are to long and clog up the vanes. Buyer beware...and make sure you keep the original box and packing material or you cannot return.
