This is my first table saw and I am very happy with it. I did buy a saw alignment gauge from Woodcraft's main competitor and it was a bit out at 8/1000s but nothing that could not easily be remedied. I had a lot of worries about accidentally triggering the safety mechanism but so far it is been a very stable and useful tool. Not having a dado blade option is not a deal killer for me. It is a heavy machine so not something you want to lug around, but on the upside that does make for a stouter product.

After using an inexpensive brand table saw for a few years I decided it was time to upgrade. After researching and found that Sawstop was making a new model for less than $1000, I chose this compact saw for the safety and because I have a very small garage and didn’t want anything larger. Out of the box it was ready to go. I think my favorite feature is the fence. After a few uses I learned I can trust that the measurement is precise. I’m very happy with my choice.

Following up on my last review, I was prompted to make accurate measures with e feeler gauge using the same straight edge I had used to write my last review. The following are the precise measurements of the Table's deviation from flatness: Top right corner: Off by 0.072' Bottom right corner: 0.025' Bottom left corner: 0.042' Top left corner: 0.052' Apologies to Sawstop for posting a review with eyeball measures. Having said that, the numbers are still pretty significant and do not change the one star rating or the reasoning for it.

I understand that contractor compact saws are not precision machines, but this thing is off at the sides of the table by at least 1/16 on the best parts, and up to 1/8th on the worst part. It's like a bow from the blade outward. I will keep it to see how it affects the work, and if Im not happy I will return it as it has one year warranty. I can't believe that Sawstop would decide to make the table flatness the least of their priorities. I mean every other brand on this bracket has much better flatness standards for a fraction of the money. It's a pity, cuz otherwise the saw is quite nice. Its a 900 bucks saw for god sake. Shouldn't one at least expect a reasonably flat table top? The service from Woodcraft was outstanding. They called Sawstop and they said that naaa that shouldn't matter to most users and that they have not promised any tolerances and they would not replace it, mainly because the next one would probably be he same. What a buzzkill.
