Just took delivery of 6 fittings in all, then find out that Woodcraft designed these so you have to spend more to use them. It would have been simple to cut the injection mold to 4.05” INTERNAL diameter. Not up to their usual standards. Perhaps next they’ll sell hand planes without blades? Yes, I am ticked off.

Thanks for the feedback. These items were designed for various applications. We do have a version of the machine coupling that has an integrated flex cuff. https://www.woodcraft.com/products/magfitt-4-quick-connector-machine-coupling We have contacted you with an offer to resolve this issue.

Great idea, but the magnets are VERY week. The coupling will separate if there is any lateral pressure on the connection.

Great product! For those who complained about needing a coupler to attach it to their machines, here is a simple cheap solution, I just cut a short length of 4" flex dust hose and used 2 hose clamps to butt the machine dust outlet against the magnetic machine coupling.

I had ordered 1 hose coupling and 4 machine couplings. Was disappointed to discover that the machine coupling won't fit any machine as is, you need to purchase separately Flexible Cuff Coupler with Steel Clamps for each machine. No mention of this Woodcraft online, catalog, nor flyer. Looks like they will work well once I get the require extra couplers.

Why, oh why would you not make these so that they slip on a standard 4" or 2.5" dust port on tools? The need to use a coupler only makes the fitting stick out even further from the machine. While I generally like Woodcraft, the products, and the people who work there I'm going somewhere else for dust collection ports ...

Glad I read about needing the flexible adapters. Saved me a bunch of time having them on hand (I ordered them at the same time I ordered the couplings) I installed one on my drum sander, planer, table saw, Mullet Tools boom arm, miter saw & bandsaw. Works great! Incredibly easy to attach/detach. I can even store the magnet end of the hose attached to my air filter unit, which hangs from the ceiling next to the dust collector.

Like Jerry above, I thought it was foolish not to make it so it would fit the machines. None of them would fit my machines. All they had to do was make it a little bigger. Making it bigger would not cost them any more money. They wanted us to buy the fittings to make it work which would make the total cost about double. I purchase many things from Woodcraft and think they are a good company, but this time they made me a little mad. I got my Machine Couplings for my birthday and had a lot of the couplings on hand so the cost was reasonable for me.

This would be a five star review. Except the catalog and the flyer does not mention you need to buy rubber flex cuff to attach these to the machines. Which more than doubles the cost. It is still a great product. I would have given it five stars if they also mentioned you needed the rubber cuff to use these items.
