I purchased this machine almost a year ago. I used for about a month when it developed a horrible, unsafe shake. It would literally walk across the floor. For reference, I was working pine when it happened. I called Jet and they instructed me to take it to a "local" authorized repair. That local shop was a one hour drive from my house. That shop called me 5 days later saying they couldn't fix and I would have to take it to another authorized repair shop that was close to 3 hours from my house. I called Jet back and they said they would replace the tool and to have the shop destroy it and send pictures. I did all of this in January. I was told a new tool would be shipped shortly. Then I was told it was on back order and would be a month or two, then it would ship on June 11th. It's now the end of August, I don't have a replacement machine. JET refuses to refund my purchase price and has no estimate of if and when I will ever receive it. I would highly recommend another brand that might actually stand behind their product.

I had issues with this machine since I first bought it. It was missing pieces required for assembly, while also including incorrect pieces that were not part of the assembly. Jet's customer service was TERRIBLE in trying to get this resolved; literally took months. It was so bad that I will never buy a piece of Jet machinery again. It's just not worth it. For the actual machine, there are several issues. First, it is impossible to get the fence for the jointer to be 90 degrees. No matter what I try, or how hard I try, it physically cannot be at 90 degrees. Second, I have only used this a handful of times, but the blades already seem to be offset. I have run a board over the jointer 50+ times, with little to no results. When I try and run thin boards (1/4") through the planer, it has literally chopped the boards to pieces. This did not happen when I first purchased it. Third, the sniping is so bad and unavoidable, that no matter what I do, I cannot use about 3" on either end of the board because of the extreme snipe. This machine was so poorly put together by a company whose customer support truly does not care, that it is not worth it to buy this equipment, even if it means saving space in a workshop.

This is the worst tool I have ever purchased. Not enough room here to write up everything that is bad. EVERYTHING IS BAD.

So just purchased this, and probably should have read reviews first. The in-feed and out-feed tables are off by about an 1/8 of an inch and no amount of adjustment will flush the two up. I will be taking this back after one day and 6 hours of work trying to get them to line up and 2 and half weeks waiting on shipping. Not sure how this can be sold as a legitimate tool. It is completely unusable. Buyer beware!!!!

This machine is made for small jobs. The jointer bed is only 3 ft long. I wouldn't suggest using it for any wood greater than 1" rough and 4 ft long. Even when you weigh the machine down with sandbags (I used bags of cat litter), it's still not real sturdy. The fence is flimsy, and can't be moved laterally, so the parts of the blades nearest the fence are going to wear out more quickly than the rest of the blades. I had trouble with Jet technical support. The machine didn't turn on when I got it assembled, even though I diligently followed the instructions. There is a switch that was not properly set at the factory, but the support staff at Jet kept blaming me for not installing the machine correctly. After getting nowhere with them, I called Woodcraft who finally arranged to have a service technician come to my house to adjust the switch.
