I would recommend getting the mobile base. I have a small shop. The mobile base allows me to use my space efficiently. The wheels don't have an issue rolling over the floor cracks or small debris.

This is a good kit. Watch the videos. The instructions are slim. I have had no issue. The adjustment is a bit odd, but once set works very well. Given my small space and the need to moves tools it is invaluable. I recommend this part for the saw.

Not great quality. The base itself is fine, but when the wheel / lift fails there doesnt seem to be a replacement without re-buying the whole kit. Now, there was no reason for it to fail in the first place (light usage), but occasionally you expect there may be production issues and having a replacement seems like a reasonable expectation.

the hard plastic wheels get hung up on the smallest things, even cracks in the floor. only positive thing i can say about it is that it conects solidly to the base of the band saw. When I get the time i will shop make an alternative. every thing else about the bandsaw is well made and well thought out

Very unstable. Bolt mounted on the fixed wheel side supposedly keeps unit stable however this is not the case. Kit is probably going in the scrap heap...

The Laguna 14-12 has an over sized base and universal bases that fit are way over sized and not much cheaper. This kit was fairly easy to install and seems able to handle the weight well. However, three 3-wheels are less stable than four so you do need to be careful on hwo you puch pull the unit.
