Paper rips if you don't use the velcro backing that is sold separately. The conveyor that pulls the wood through is cheap sandpaper type material as well and breaks down.

Great sander. Easy to set up. People at Woodcraft very helpful. Used on 90% of all my projects! Thinking about a drum sand, you can't go wrong with SuperMax!

The 19 38 is an amazing piece of equipment. Very easy set up, does an amazing job with the 3 grit sizes that I have used 80, 120, 180. You will regret delaying the purchase of this sander once you get it. Also, it is very quiet.

Let me begin by saying I was dead set on getting the 16 32 or even a jet but everyone was out of stock. I I wanted a drum sander for a project. I was told that the earliest delivery I could expect was 60 to 90 days out, so I thought well I can come up with the additional money because I will have plenty of time to make payments... put down $500.00 and left the store. That was on a Wednesday, Next Monday I got a phone call saying my Drum Sander was here.... LOL Best mistake I have ever made. Went back and got the inferred outfield tables and just got the Wixey DRO... every piece of wood I use goes through this machine. Well Built and a work horse. BTW I was in the store today and they have about 6 of both the 1632 and the 1938..... Go buy one ..... its helps your woodworking!!!

I ordered this item on the 26th of November and after 5 weeks, Woodcraft has been unable to actually deliver the sander and while I did receive the base, the casters and table extensions, none of that actually means anything without the sander itself. Woodcraft continues to avoid responding to me with any meaningful details and they've been giving me the run-around for weeks now. Ironically, this is the 3rd order in a row that I've placed with Woodcraft who seemingly have no idea what they're shipping and are incapable of actually tracking or providing tracking details to their customers without a lot of pressure from me. I would understand once, maybe even twice but 3 orders that have been horribly managed is unacceptable. If I treated my customers this way, I'd be out of business in no time. I've learned my lesson, no more orders from Woodcraft, particularly when their competition apparently has the item on the floor (I later found out).

Holy smokes this machine is awesome. I've been working on a built in entertainment center out of red oak and we were able to run all the 16" wide x 85" tall panels through this sander and it absolutely flattened everything out perfectly. Since I did not purchase the infeed/outfeed extensions yet, I did need to place roller stands on both ends to take out the panel flex and prevent divots. We were able to run all 16 panels through in under 4 hours. Then I did a little finish sanding and we were assembling. Wow, how have I done without one of these for 20 + years. This device cut a ton of work out. This is a must have in a woodworking shop. Can't wait to try sanding veneer with it.

I love this machine! This took me a bit to get squared away initially - the drum was slightly out of alignment with the table out of the box and I tend to be a "use it first, tune it later" kind of guy. Trust me on this one: Take the fifteen minutes to ensure parallel drum/table alignment and you'll be a happy camper. This quickly took an end grain cutting board that I'd made and fixed all the lumps and different height blocks and flattened them nicely. Hours and hours of hand sanding saved by this tool. My hands and shoulders and extra shop time benefitted greatly!
