I like how small this is as it fits in my shop. Unfortunately, the fence is so weak and flexible it is impossible to get a 90 degree edge. Don’t waste your $

Ordered this jointer March of 2021. The website didn't have any out of stock/back order notice. When after a week it hadn't showed up I called to verify the order had been placed, a very nice lady told me estimated ship date was Dec 2021. The website had been updated to show no availability. Here it is Dec and the website had been updated again to show it might be shipped in March 2022. And the price had gone up over 100 bucks. Absolutely ridiculous. Found one in a Woodcraft store here in San Antonio but another nice lady at Woodcraft explained they aren't really affiliated with the brick and mortar stores. I'd have to cancel my order and buy it from the store at the inflated price. Wtf? Super nice ladies both times. Absolutely no help what so ever. Thanks for nothing. Cheers.

This jointer is good for squaring up short lumber. The aluminum fence flexes with enough force, and I’ve found that you need to periodically check for 90 with use. Even with an upgraded 12â€

Very nice machine. I have run the machine for six months and the cut is the same as the first day. The only issue is the vacuum port size. I had to modify an adapter for a tight fit. Also, do not run without using the vacuum. The machine will clog quickly. If you plan on running smaller boards or space is an issue, this is the machine for you.

I have used this jointer twice since purchase. It seems to be a nice little machine. Not near as loud as I thought it wood be. I think it will greatly improve the quality of the glued up panels for my projects that I build. Strongly recommend for hobbyists.

This is based on the same machine as the Porter-Cable benchtop jointer. The carbide-cutter head is the biggest difference. On hard, "chippy" wood, the difference is night and day. Difficult pieces that made the Porter-Cable shake, chatter, and dull blades, run right through with no more fuss than an electric razor. Obviously (I hope), don't buy a benchtop jointer if what you need is a big one. But if it suits your needs, this one is first class.

Pros: 1. It was light weight. 2. There are no pros for operation, see 'cons.' Cons: 1. This jointer was impossible to square due to a manufacturing defect in the fence assembly. 2. They call it 'helical style' because the cutterhead is a spiral not a helix. This was my first experience with Rikon, and for $453 dollars I expected better. What's the point of a jointer that you can't actually use?
