I bought this a few months ago. I purchased the BX model because of the brake, which provides additional safety for me. This is a beautiful tool, well made, well engineered. I have used it for fine work and resawing. I like the Laguna blades, having three sizes to work with. The blade changes are simple, the alignment and tracking straight forward. Unlike other brands the blade change does not require removing extra parts like the fence. One screw, one capture bolt, a blade and then open the doors and guards - simple and done. The other part was my local store in Rockville Md, great guys, a big help. This is an easy to setup unit, saw, wheels and light. Add in some guards and mag tools it is just too much fun.

just received it . It took me a bit of time to set up. The optional light which I purchased really needs 2 people to install. It’s a bit clumsy for one. Overall it is exactly what I wanted.

I am a owner of 4 band saws. The Laguna 14 BX Band Saw is so superior to the other band saws I own. It is a precision piece of machinery. I am so happy I bought it.

After owning this for 2 weeks, I've had time to see it's weakness. I needed to make some cedar dominos, so I resawed some 1" x 5-1/2" cedar. The saw bogged down quite a bit, to the point of actually stalling the 1.75 hp motor. A 14" saw, stalling on. 5-1/2" cedar? Using Lagunas $150 carbide tipped blade, and I wasn't pushing the wood through fast at all. Another issue, was how soft the cast iron top is. I had to make some 2 step stringers out of 2x12 PT. They actually scratched the top!!!! No staples, just the wood. I wasn't thrilled with how noisey it was either. This COULD be attributed to the carbide tipped Laguna blade, but just the same..after spending $1400, I expect more for my money.

I bought this saw to do the occasional resawing and redimensioning of reclaimed lumber or raw tree stumps. I'm not seeing the vibration the other reviewer did, I'm sorry he's experiencing that because mine seems just fine and smooth. I opted for the 110V model because I didn't feel the need to go with higher HP but in hindsight (being 20/20) I could have probably gone with the higher HP model. Ultimately though, this is the perfect bandsaw for my use and I'm thrilled with it. I did also get the mobile base for it so I can easily move it myself however, I'm not thrilled with this base, its not great but I don't need to move it much so I'll live with it.

What I like: Guides work well and are easy to set. Blade changes are no problem. Fence is solid and has a lot of adjustment. The frame is solid and looks great. Plenty of power. Brake works great. Nice big, flat table (after replacement - see below). Why I only gave 2 stars: My saw suffered from a couple problems. One was resolved after some replacement parts. The other has not yet been resolved. The first problem was that the table was not flat at the slot used to change the blade. The table in front of the slot was significantly higher than the back. No amount of adjustment could bring it flat. I was sent a new table and this didn't fix the problem. While changing the table again I noticed that one side of the trunnion mount was milled more deeply than the other. Customer support sent me a new trunnion and that solved the problem - table is now perfect. The other problem is EXCESSIVE VIBRATION. The saw has vibrated since day one. I have had on a number of different brands and sizes of blades and the vibration is the same. The saw does not pass the "nickle test". The product description says "almost no detectable vibration" - yeah right. I mean, I can use the saw, but I always notice the vibration. Customer support first sent a new set of tires - no effect. They then sent a new lower wheel - no effect. Then an upper wheel - no effect. I spent too much money on a set of Carter tires because the Laguna ones didn't seem to cover the entire wheel and they actually helped a little. Customer support has been friendly and has at least tried to replace some parts, but I still have the excessive vibration. For the money this saw costs, I want it to be as advertised. This has more vibration than any bandsaw I've ever used. I've spent more time messing with the saw and waiting for parts than cutting wood - changing wheels, tires, tables, etc. This is just unacceptable for a 14 inch bandsaw that costs this much. I purchased the saw over 6 months ago now, and my issue is still not resolved.
