Purchased a 14BX saw in the Woodcraft store in my state and was anxious to use it. Got it all put together and my outlet wired up. Went to turn it on and it spun the motor fast and then shut off. It would not turn back on, so I checked and noticed it had tripped the CB. After checking the obvious reasons for it tripping the CB, I called Laguna Customer Service on Monday and after not getting a call back by noon on Wed, I finally asked to speak with a supervisor. After checking a few things, he thought it was a bad motor. It was supposed to have been shipped on Monday, but when I called on Thursday, it still wasn't shipped. After complaining it was already supposed to be shipped, they ended up shipping it and I received it over the weekend. The motor ended up correcting the problem. It just makes me wonder why the bad motor wasn't detected before it left the factory in Taiwan. Other than the issues above wasting numerous hours of my time, I'm very happy with the saw.

bought 9 months ago. could be improved: assembly on line electronic version of manual shows parts better than printed manual (poor quality printing). 220V outlet for 110V light? (order light with appropriate voltage) plastic knobs cheaper than Rikon $150 sander. photos not as clear as diagram/drawings with on-line manual “brakeâ€

This is supposed to be a great bandsaw but unfortunately Laguna cannot get all the parts for it right now and cannot make it! Woodcraft should not be selling it. I purchased it on sale in November with the backorder date quoted as 1/15/21. Woodcraft charged me money right away even though it was on backorder. Called them to check on the backorder twice - they had no information. Then on 1/13/21 then send me an email saying its now backordered to 4/2/21. They should not be selling this on their website until it is available - there is no guarantee it will be available in April. Woodcraft should not charge customers for things on backorder for 4 months. I have requested a full refund and will never buy from Woodcraft again. I now have lost the chance to buy a machine during the sales over thanksgiving and will have to pay full price. DO NOT ORDER THIS MACHINE UNLESS IT IS IN STOCK. Woodcraft you stink!

I bought this saw specifically to resaw hardwoods for laser cutting. I use wood from local mills, and cut it down from 4/4 to 1/4" for most projects. I needed something that could handle wider boards, in the 10-12" range. This saw was impressive right out of the box. I have never owner a large bandsaw like this, so ease of setup and use was an important factor for me. After looking at the different saws available at the local (Chattanooga, TN) WoodCraft store, I decided on this one. One thing that greatly influenced my decision is the fact that they have the earlier version of this saw in their classroom there. Assembly was easy, it took about 30 minutes total including the add-on mobility kit that I also got. The saw is VERY mobile with the kit installed. One person CAN handle assembly, but the saw is HEAVY so it's a good idea to have some unloading and unpacking help. I was impressed by how well the saw worked right out of the box. Once I had the blade guides set, all I really had to adjust was the table to get it exactly perpendicular to the blade, which was a matter of adjusting one bolt. Once this was done, I put the saw to work right away, resawing lumber. I've run several test cuts in various hard and soft woods, and the results are incredibly impressive. I went with the 220v saw for the extra horsepower- and I'm glad I did! I was resawing 10" poplar today, and it didn't slow the saw down a bit. Same thing with wide white oak planks. I can't wait to really 'fine tune' the saw!

Like most who are considering a $1000+ bandsaw purchase, I researched myself into a migraine and kept bouncing between makes and models, considering offerings from Jet, Rikon, Laguna and the bear. I'd convince myself that an $800 purchase would be good enough, but then consider what an extra couple hundred dollars would get me. I eventually bit on the Laguna 14 BX 220V during a 10% off promo and could not more satisfied. I've bought a couple new pieces in the last few years from other manufacturers, including an edge sander and a large shaper, and there is nothing like the assembly process to evaluate build quality. From the get go upon opening the shipping carton it was obvious Laguna pays attention to detail. Superb packaging protected the saw in transit, and all the accessory pieces were readily located and easy to remove and sort. (The edge sander I purchased was the polar opposite with unbagged parts strewn everywhere and the hardware package I needed in step 1 under the main housing). The instructions reek of ESL influence, and the pictures are Instamatic quality. But the assembly is straightforward and everything fit like a Swiss watch. Rust protection was effective without being excessive, and besides being a high performance saw, it's just a pretty power tool!! I immediately put it through several tests in resawing some oak timbers with a 3/4" blades, as well as some intricate cuts with a 3/4" sword. It cut and tracked flawlessly, and setup of the ceramic guides was not easy but quite doable. Tilting the table to 45 degrees allows access to the lower guides, and blade tensioning using the quick set bar is a breeze. NOTE: if you;re reading this review and considering the lower HP 110V version for the same money snap out of your delusion and head straight for the 220V model. Consider any money you might have to spend on electrical hook-up insurance against bogging down. Bottom line - in this price range and for this build quality and design there is nothing that compares.

I researched saws in this category for about a year before pulling the trigger. I found that the negative feedback I’d read about this saw in terms of customer service and usability of the saw to simply be untrue for my experience. Like any tool, it takes a bit to figure out how to adjust properly, but once you do get it adjusted it is awesome. Some folks had complaints about the guides and adjusting them, but I haven’t had any struggles. I put it on a four wheeled mobile base made by another manufacturer as I wanted a slightly larger footprint for stability. I love this saw and am extremely satisfied.

Well for years I have been researching and researching band saws to no end. Finally a couple of months ago Woodcraft was having a sale and after even more research I decided to go with the 14BX W/220 and it has been an animal ever since. Adjustments have been simple and easy to make. Blades changes have also been pretty simple too. With the Laguna Re-sawKing blade it slices and dices like no buddies business! Laguna really does make a great quality tool that is a pleasure to own and use. Thanks, Cody
