The system takes all the guesswork out of sawing plumb and true. It will also control angles between plus or minus 45 degrees in either axis or both axes at once. You just measure, mark out with the included guide plate and then let the saw drift through the cut leaving a crisp, smooth, perfectly true surface.
Whether you are simply preparing your stock with dead square ends, or cutting complex compound mitres, the free angle saw guide guarantees a perfect result every time. Stools and chairs with splayed legs - no problem, picture frames - piece of cake, tea trays with bevelled sides - too easy!
The free angle saw guide is designed for use with the S-265 pistol grip kataba and vice versa. The saw is toothed primarily for crosscut, but with the addition of an inward pointing pair of teeth for every four standard ones, giving unparalleled smoothness for diagonal slanting cuts.
The system can be used to cut plumb and true, or any angle between plus or minus 45 degrees in either axis and any combination. The set includes a protractor to help with working out your angles and a straightedge for laying out before you cut.
You can even set the guide fence up to run along a batten or straight edged clamp for ripping down panels and sheet materials.
To the purist it may seem like cheating, and let's be honest - it is, but if it saves time and materials then why not?

“What a piece of kit! Took a little getting used to, but once I did everything and prepared the tool correctly I was able to make some very accurate cuts. Just make sure you take the time to square up every adjustable angle before using - don’t trust the manufacturers marks, mine were about half a degree off which was enough to affect the cuts. Once square though it’s really amazing, saw is sharp and cuts beautifully. Very happy with my purchase.”

“I've had a Z-Saw Free Angle Guide for eight years now and it is one of my most used tools and highly recommeded. Cuts straight and true every time (see later). Set the blade to the waste side of the knife line and cut. Perfect mitres for table edge corners. I use a digital angle rule to set the angles. I bought another Saw Guide for my son-in-law because he was using an old mitre box. At one stage the saw cut started to deviate from the setting and after examination I found the spacer between the two guide plates had developed a burr each side where the saw back can contact it sometimes. The burrs were jacking the two plates apart and the saw guidance was lost. I stoned the burrs off and restored the precision cut. I've worn out two blades so far and bought replacements from Workshop Heaven.”

“Great value for money, super sharp and way better than my earlier saws. I will never try cheap tools again if I depend on god results. I will say premium quality are the cheapest way to great woodworking.”

“I'm certainly no cabinet maker, although I can follow a pencil line with a saw with a reasonable amount of competence. I do however, like to use a hand saw guide when cutting in situ, e.g. cutting the pyramid on a gate post top after it's in place. Best things about this product: build quality, really hefty steel construction, flat base for clamping to a surface if needed and really nice saw”

“I wanted to say how useful I found it for fitting a new kitchen worktop into a corner where the walls are definitely not at 90 degrees. I needed to take off a tapering piece from a 38mm thick oak veneered laminated IKEA worktop. Taper is from 0 to 15mm. Using a clamped batten to run the saw guide along I achieved an excellent cut despite having to go through 3 different layers of material and there was no run out, the cut is dead straight. The finished edge looks planed and there was no break out top or bottom all along the 625mm cut. Outstanding.”
