A straight bladed compass plane, for smoothing and fairing concave edges up to and including its own radius (approximately 200mm).
The 24mm wide blade is shouldered, giving a cutting edge of 20mm width. Typically used for shaping the underside of aprons and rails to lighten the appearance of a piece.

I found this very effective. It needed only a little fettling and a little bit of honing and it was ready to go. Worked well on some White Oak.
