Made to a traditional British design, this beautiful Mujingfang rebate (rabbet) plane is handmade in Hong Kong from a single piece of fine grained ebony. The cutting iron is made from forged carbon steel, hardened and tempered to RC58 and secured with an individually fitted and numbered wooden wedge.
Sole: 150mm x 24mm Blade: 25mm - fractionally wider and tapered in its width so that it can be set flush to either side.

“I have just received this (8 days from the UK to here is petty good in my opinion) so these are my first impression. The body of the plane is well finished and it feels good in the hand. The blade has substantial thickness and I am looking forward to fettling and honing it before putting the plane to work on the rebate of a door frame. The wedge is nicely made and fits the blade very snugly. I would also add that the items I received were well packed by Workshop Heaven. I particularly like the use of crumpled brown paper, much more convenient to unpack than styrofoam peanuts, and environmentally friendlier.”
