The Mujingfang Taiwanese Spokeshave is a medium-sized delightfully fingertippy and precise moustache-shaped spokeshave from Mujingfang, handmade from Shungee rosewood to a traditional Taiwanese design. Each body is individually numbered and paired with a hand forged carbon steel blade.
The body is 185mm long with a 67mm cutting edge and a very tight mouth. Although the 15mm of sole ahead of the blade is flat, the underside of the blade forms an angle with it, so the tool is easy to master while still able to get into fairly tight curves. Its larger size compared to the small spokeshave suits general curved-surface shaping such as chair legs and handles, where the extra length and blade width cover more ground with each pass.
