This rock solid, 2 kilo block of dead flat of 10mm thick float glass is the ideal substrate for use with sheet abrasives for scary sharpening. The lapping plate is the same width as 3M lapping film sheets so that both ends can be used for flattening the backs of blades, and long enough to accommodate several grades.This lapping plate is 110mm longer than our standard float glass plate, allowing more strips of scary sharpening abrasive to be adhered to the sheet.470mm (18.5") x 220mm (8.6") x 10mm (0.4")2.2kg

“I bought this for sharpening and lapping planes. Happily this is now the flattest item in my sharpening regimen. I successfully used this to flatten a no 5 jack and a block plane. So if you don't have the money for a granite plate this will get you where you want to be for less money and you get to use it for sharpening too. So in the long run it's value for money.”
