Dogyu Uradashi Anvil 100mm Reviews

5 Rating 1 Reviews
Read Workshop Heaven Reviews

A compact Japanese anvil for performing Uradashi - tapping out the bevel of Japanese plane irons to preserve the hollow in the back. Uradashi is sometimes used on wider chisels, but the way they are constructed with a thicker layer of steel that folds up around the sides limits its effect. The anvil is made from a section of railway line, milled flat on the top with a radius on one edge and one end. The anvil is unhardened so that it can absorb vibration to protect the hardened steel hagane layer of the plane iron. It is therefore not suitable in its supplied condition for hot forging.
Length: 100mm Height: 110mm Weight: 2.4kg
