The Thor 712 is a multi-purpose striking tool with easily interchangeable screw-in faces, fitted as standard with one hard (white) and one soft (grey). The 'Thorex' mallet has become a toolbox staple for all sorts of trades; engineering, plumbing, furniture making, stage fitting, exhibition stand building, it is also an excellent choice if you don't want to mash up the nice handles on your chisels. The head is chrome plated steel with solid moulded screw in faces, so no threaded rod to find its way out through the face, the natural ash wood handle effectively dampens vibration and prevents it from travelling back up your arm.Screw in replacement faces are available in a range of densities: soft (grey), tough (brown), medium (red), hard (white), well hard (yellow)
Face diameter: 38mm (1½")

Fantastic hammer. Well balanced in the hand, great shape to the handle and the gray side is soft enough for assembly.

A good all round soft faced hammer to use for assembly and chisel work. Good weight and well balanced. I like the option for different faces and might swap the grey soft face for a red medium.. The grey is pretty soft and has a slight rebound. I think it would be handy for assembling softwood joinery which marrs very easily.

Another wonderful hammer from Thor. I have several others by Thor and find them all excellent. They offer a really quality tool at a reasonable price. Replaceable heads make these a lifetime tool- what's not to like?

I am very please with this hammer, incredibly well balanced and deliverers a hefty punch as well. It is also nice to find tools still being made in England to such a high standard, if only they could a remake some traditional English pattern claw hammers as well :D
