The York HVQ515 is a quick release cast iron bodied bench vice spindle for front vices on European workbenches. Screwed beneath the top and fitted through the apron they provide an unobtrusive and reliable working mechanism.This vice spindle is fitted with a simple but effective quick release system - no levers, just take two full turns off with the main handle and the spindle will slide freely. Two turns forward re-engages the mechanism.A circlip on the end of one of the spindles prevents the vice from being unintentionally withdrawn completely from the bench. When installing, check that the two nuts that hold the guide rods through the front plate are done up good and tight.

Note: When engaging and disengaging the quick release mechanism some momentum is required to flip over the cam nut that disengages or re-engages the drive. Spin hard, pull gently and it will serve you well for the rest of your life with no trouble at all.
