A complete homebrew quick detailer kit.
This kit consists of all three of our homebrew QD ingredients, QD01 Gloss emulsion, QD02 Colour emulsion & QD03 Durability emulsion, plus 10ml of a fragrance oil of your choice*, 100ml of colour dye**, mixing bottles, triggers & dosing syringes needed to produce your own Quick Detailer at home. All you need to do is add water!
Our engineered emulsions allow you to build your own personalised quick detailer at home, why settle for a quick detailer that does not suit your needs when you can formulate your own at home by simply buying our complete homebrew QD emulsion kit.
Simply use all three products, QD01, QD02 & QD03. Then follow our starter formula listed below to get a feel for the ingredients, once you're comfortable you can then adjust the levels of each emulsion to achieve a quick detailer that is personal to yourself.
The Ingredients
To formulate your own quick detailer at home you will need several materials that are listed below and explained in brief, all of these materials are included in this kit apart from the water!
1. QD01 - Our engineered Gloss emulsion, as the name states, this emulsion promotes gloss in the formula.2. QD02 - Our engineered Colour/Filling emulsion, this emulsion boosts colour by filling in minor defects on the surface.3. QD03 - Our engineered Durability emulsion, this emulsion promotes durability within the formula.4. Measuring/dosing apparatus - As you will be using concentrated emulsions, accuracy can make all the difference with the finished article.5. Mixing container - This can simply be a new product bottle like those our products come in.6. Distilled water - in some cases tap water will suffice however to achieve best results we suggest distilled water.7. Fragrance Oils - Although not essential a nice aroma to a product can make all the difference.8. Colour Dyes - Again not essential but it will add a level of personality to your QD.
The formula
For a simple starting point we would suggest following our formula provided below, once you are happy and confident at dosing the emulsions you can simply adjust the level of each emulsion to suit.
3% QD01 - Gloss Emulsion 0.5% QD02 - Colour Emulsion 1.5% QD03 - Durability Emulsion 95% Distilled WaterIn a 1L blend this would equate to:30ml QD01 5ml QD0215ml QD03950ml Distilled Water
It is possible to add up to around 0.1% (1ml) fragrance oils and a similar amount of colour dyes to the formula. Note that the fragrance oils are oil based and will adjust the oil levels in the formula & ultimately slightly adjust the characteristics of the finished blend.
Using the formula above the products supplied in this kit will make several gallons of QD & return a price per litre of around £3.50! which is simply amazing considering the price of premium detailers on the market these days.
A few pointers to consider
Generally the higher the ratio of QD01 - Gloss Emulsion to the other two emulsions, the easier the blend will be to work with/remove.Adding More QD02 - Colour Emulsion will help filling and colour but will cause the product to become harder to buff off. As a rule, we would suggest that no more than 5% of either of the 3 emulsions should be used as it is really not needed and will result in a product that is harder to use.
