“I purchased these to replace the prior version of these lights, ones that were non LED. They are pretty much the same thing with respect to housing. I have these lights installed in a granite wall. The lights failed in two areas last time so I have been careful in installation. 1) The painted aluminum face plates are terrible, the paint comes off after a couple of years, hence I bought stainless steel this time. These are just subject to normal rain etc in their location, they should not have failed, but the NSL painting process is not great. 2) The seal that makes the light water tight also fails after about 2 years, and water can get inside. It fails because the aluminum in the face plate starts to etch and fall apart, and the seal becomes brittle. Once the seal leaks, water enters the light and all the paint comes off the inside and it will rust. The screws they use are not stainless, even on the new ones so they disintegrate as well, causing the seal to fail. This time I put a waterproof silicon around the join of the face plate to body and over screws so it should last longer. If I had a choice, I would choose a different manufacturer as the quality of these NSL products for the high price, is not good. Unfortunately as I needed to replace like with like with respect to size, this was my only option.”
