“I like Ra3, but it's astounding that this all-new product still uses similar slow and clunky PC-only programming software to Ra2 and makes you go into a phone app to activate devices. It seems like a half-solution that somehow got released. And even with the latest firmware, I've had a number of programming snafus where I've had to reset the unit and start again. And the new LEAP protocol for access to the systems is, sorry Lutron, moronic. It's supposed to be about security, but it isn't using any open standard, so it would likely be easily hackable because there is no community of people looking for vulnerabilities proactively. Luckily, who in their right mind would want to hack someone's lights and shades? Why is this even an issue? All this new scheme for login and access accomplishes is making third-party integrations harder and fewer. Lutron better make programming quicker and simpler, and deal with the access issues. And add hybrid keypads!”
