I read the reviews here while deciding if I wanted to drop that kind of money in a hole punch, and ultimately decided that I did need it. And good thing. I couldn't imagine cutting all else graphics out with scissors. My only complaint is it's a big hard to squeeze, but that's probably because I have muscle tone reminiscent of cooked spaghetti. Once you get he hang of it, you're golden!

I bought the punch cutter from a different source before, and unfortunately it broke very quickly on me. I switched to the dynamo and it works very well! Fair warning though, using it too much can cause stress on your wrist; I suggest using your non dominant hand and taking breaks.

The Dynamo cutter is the best piece of equipment you can get to ensure you are making quality buttons. It helps cut perfect circles to fit inside your button machine. No need to fuss with scissors and leave out-of-place edges. This cutter has come in handy for my organization when we work on youth programming. Its an easy tool for all ages to use without much direction or worry about safety concerns. A+!

So - when we first started offering buttons and pins as part of our product line, we were careful with our upfront cost in case things didn't work out. In doing so, I purchased a punch cutter that was more along the ilk of the scrapbookers tool. It was the kind of thing you use to cut things out every once in a while - not thousands of circles. Well, from day one, that cutter was never reliable and I had to take a hammer to it and straighten out a bend in the cutter so I could get semi-clean cuts. And the other day it completely split from extended use and being very soft aluminum type material. I bit the bullet and invested in this Dynamo punch cutter and the angels sang when I punched out the first circle... it takes less effort with one hand to cut the circles than it did with two hands on the cheaper, less reliable one. Really happy I spent the money.

You can use a pair of scissors if you are only going to be making a few buttons but after like the 10th circle you start realizing you are going to be sitting there awhile. I bought this dynamo punch cutter and it not only cut my circles for my buttons perfect it more importantly cut down my time of cutting circles. If you are going to be making buttons, and dont want to get bogged down using the old scissors method then I suggest you get this easy to use hand held punch cutter. Its fast and easy to use and makes the size perfect for your machine it pays for itself in the time it takes to cutting circles.

This is really easy to use, and very functional. Our students understood how to use it immediately (unlike the punch cutter, which requires some explanation). However, if you are going to have a lot of people using it, I'd recommend going with the punch cutter instead: after the second day of high use (at a student festival), the Dynamo got bent, and no longer cut a perfect circle. I have no idea what happened - did someone try cutting through something too thick? Did someone step on it? No one came clean, but our punch cutter has been through lots of festivals, and is still working well. I would recommend the Dynamo if it's going to used by a limited number of people, or under supervision.
