“Very happy with this set, which I took with the Apeks manifold upgrade. As food for thought, there is an пїЅApeksпїЅ branded twinset for sale which has the Apeks manifold, but the corners have been cut with cheap Czech cylinders which weigh a kilo less each than these eurocylinders for some mysterious reason, and IпїЅm told the finish isnпїЅt so good. The BTS tank bands are wide and good on this set (6 cm, but somehow look bigger and are certainly enough), and come with nice delrin nuts to fix the bp. I took the Apeks manifold due to bad experiences with neglected BTS valves, which were so stiff they made me feel arthritic on valve shutdowns. The Apeks knobs pretty much roll in your hands (once pressurized). I guess IпїЅve dived a fair bit with this set now. IпїЅd doubt the supposed extra weight balance at the bottom makes much difference пїЅ I wear my tanks very far forward anyhow, and there are so many other factors like how much air you kick into your drysuit legs, or the extra weight I have at the top for my winter undersuit. But what I can say is that I do like the flat bottoms. The other day I popped out of an ice hole, shuffled back a bit and slipped out of the harness with the bottles standing. Donned it the same way. The uprightness isnпїЅt totally guaranteed (well, yes, goes without saying), so be careful how you leave them on uneven ground. The reason I mention this is that I once did a cringe-worthy thing where I left them upright in the back of my my estate car to don them, the car was on a very, very gentle slope, and yes when I tottered off to do something they jumped out the car. I can however testify to the strength of the manifold knob, which hit the ground first. So, I chose this set due to a quality cylinder coupled with a quality, very easy manifold after enduring the pain and un-joy of poor manifolds. The cylinder finish is holding up and I like the practicality of the flat bottoms (even when filling). The Apeks manifold is a joy to use. It was worth it to me and a logical choice, especially because I hope to be using them for many years.”
