“I just got this jacket today, after having owned a few of the british sas style smocks and soldier 95 combat jackets which are my comparison in this review. My impression is that this jacket is not only better made, but more comfortable. The material feels a little heavier, but more flexible and stronger at the same time than the UK issue smocks. The stitching is better, and the lining is nicer as well. If you are going to be a very heavy user than maybe get the ripstop version, but for 95% of users this version is plenty tough I\'d say. I\'m going to be using mine as an every day jacket and for outdoors activities. I wanted a do it all jacket that I could wear in warmer weather with just a t shirt and this jacket met all my requirements. Fit is baggy but more or less true to size. If you are going to be wearing warm layers underneath it then get your regular jacket size, and adjust the fit with the drawstrings. I am 6 feet tall and 90 kg with broader than average shoulders and back and the large fits me well with enough room for a couple of extra layers under if needed. I love the multitude of pockets this thing has, I\'ll probably never use them all but it\'s good to know they are there. You could fit everything from your bug out bag in this probably. I like that LK used paracord for the drawstrings as well, rather than elasticated cord. Ton of adjustability in this smock, and it looks good on me (fits like on the guy in the 3rd picture, arms crossed guy). The arm pit zips were essential for me, since I want to be able to hike wearing this in warmer weather and not overheat. I have 3 things I wish they had done differently in the design though. 1- the zip that allows access to the inside of the jacket I feel is redundant and ought to be replaced with another velcro strip to hold the flap closed in that area. This would also be improve fit when wearing it with the flap closed but zip undone in warmer weather or under strenuous use. 2- the right arm arm pocket is a little awkwardly designed. I think it is for a dressing of some sort, but the opening of it is constricted a bit and on top of that when empty doesn\'t lay flat the way the other side does. 3- the hood needs some way to be contained when rolled up like the british smocks. It is a much better designed hood than the british smocks I will say and doesn\'t look silly when not in use. Just the right size hood and the wire feels like it is covered in rubber or plastic to stop sharp ends poking you if it breaks. Overall I can\'t deduct stars for these 3 things since they are subjective and I\'m sure many others would not find issue with them. If you\'re looking for a great smock you can\'t go wrong. If you\'re really hard on your gear go ripstop though for the added toughness.”
